I wanted to touch on internet safety today as many people don’t seem to have a clue about it and some may know a bit about the topic, but not enough to keep them safe online.

KEEPING THE HOUSEHOLD SAFE ONLINE:

From the aifs.gov.au webpage, it seems that children are highly exposed to porn, horrific images and more. See below

“In Australia, just under half (44%) of children aged 9-16 surveyed had encountered sexual images in the last month. Of these, 16% had seen images of someone having sex and 17% of someone’s genitals.”

These stats are absolutely horrific. I am saddened at the thought of this happening to children.

MARRIAGES AND RELATIONSHIPS:

Marriages and relationships are destroyed when the man or the women watches porn. This can happen when the husband or the wife can’t get the intimacy they long for and as a result, they turn to porn or it could have been a long term habit that can be dealt with with the power of prayer, distraction techniques and getting to know the triggers and dealing with them.

So, what can we do about this?

There are many options such as covenant eyes (an app that goes on your phone and sends log at the end of the day to your chosen and trusted accountability partner)

There are also setting that be put on your computer where malicious or pornagraphic material is blocked by entering the below DNS settings into your router or device (see below)

I can log in and set it up remotely for you, just use the green help icon below and i’ll get on it as soon as possible. I charge $15 for these setting changes. Access to your computer is required to apply these settings.

In all honesty, its worth having this cover just incase you get a tooth ache, need an ambulance or want a new pair of glasses every year.

I love having an eye test every year and then choosing my glasses fresh from the rack.

For some, you will definatly use it, however some wont need it because of other options available.

You may be able to gain access to a FREE trial possibly, but sometimes this option is unavailable.

Having a hard time?

The reality is that at some point in our life, we will go through a hard time at least once.

The fact is that all we must do to get through it is to just focus on your end goal… We all have a goal that we want to achieve mentally, however getting there can be super hard and at times it seems like we are getting nowhere.

The fact is that a set back is still a step up because you had to walk to that position to start with to be able to make a step back.

Its OK to have a hard time, and its OK to not know whats going on in your life… all you need to do is to look to the end goal and at that point when your fully focused on that goal, you will be able to see hope and truth.

Staying Safe Online

Its imperative in the days we are in that we protect our online safety. I have a few ideas on what may help you the most.

  1. Get a good anti virus program.
  2. Be careful what you say in comments or on your page on social media. Also, secure the settings (Call me and I can help you with it if needed)
  3. Be sure to keep your operating system on your computer up to date. Windows updates are your best friend.

Also, just a side note, make sure you are not using windows 7, vista or XP as these operating systems are they out of date and don’t receive the right amount of updates needed to keep them secure. I can help you with that also.
